2007 Ready To Rock & Roll
Turns out Missy doesn't know it all.
Eh, oh well. I'm still learning and the day I quit means I'm six feet
under.
Now that I've got my depression bouts roped in and the hot flashes figured
out, iit's time to whittle away the poundage I've packed on in the process.
Ah, the joy of it all.
Exercise is key to staving off the pounds, depression (although mine requires
meds, too, blamit all), plummeting drop in libido which appears to be
on haitus and has taken its toll on my marriage and even the periomenopause
and all that entails (i.e. bone density, core, back problems -sciatica-,
hip problems and so forth.)
Yesterday enlisted a few firsts for me. First back on the treadmills (which
elicited: wow, I forgot how good this feels) and first time tracking my
exercise and consumption which allowed me to feel more accomplished.
My goal is to drop to my "ideal" weight which frankly I don't
know what that is. I found myself looking gaunt at 180 but at 185 I started
to look "puffy." I can't see myself going past 175 but that
remains to be determined.
I'm waivering between 198 - 203 right now so my "mini-goal"
is to get back to 180 by spring break. Doable. I'd like to be at my "optimum"
come the end of June but one step at a time.
I've found that CLA (Congugated Linoleic Acid) helps my joints and that
Hoodia helps as an appetite suppressant. I've also found that straight
Hoodia is best, not the ones that add a bunch of other stuff to it, such
as "Smart Burn."
While the protein bars have have considerable amounts of protein, they
also have a fairly high carb ratio so I'm using soy burgers (Boca) that
have better ratios and better longevity as far as not dropping me quickly
into a feeling of panicked starvation.
Aside from that, I've been taking a diuretic that seems to help with the
bloating I'm susceptible to. After going through a very expensive and
restrictive weight management program (since the original one I went through
and documented here) through a medical office, I've come to the conclusion
the key is exercise and eating right which means not guessing -- recording
and planning. We'll see in due time if I'm on track.
Time to rock (as in rock hard muscles) and roll (the fat away)... [
