Where do I begin? Last night I went to bed way too late and got up very
early to get the kids off to school and then once the hubby left to take
them, I made the call to the mortgage
lender to resolve the problem that kept me up half the night. I put
myself through way too much misery. It was very easily and quickly resolved
-- without any negative repercussions on our credit history (which
is the thing keeping me up).
Feeling victorious, I made a call to the utility company. We have an
outrageously high bill that we've been contending with since the beginning
of time that caused me to "rent" a special meter to plug various appliances
into to uncover where the "leakage" was occurring. However, the meter
doesn't work with the plug for the dryer, so I decided I'd go outside,
read the meter prior to starting the dryer (which I suspect is the culprit)
and then "rinse and repeat" but the damned meter was like nothing I've
seen before. It's digital! So I called them to find out how to read it.
The guy was a <insert really bad word/s here> and my hubby was
astonished I put up with his crap as well as I did. Needless to say, I
called my other husband (a friend who's very handy and did a lot of work
for us at our house that's currently on the market) and he's scheduled
to come over Saturday to plumb gas into the laundry room so we can convert
over to gas. I was kicking butt and taking names!
I searched all over the garage and dug out all of my resistance training
gear (I'll be posting more on this tomorrow) and did "Day 1" of the routine
before it was time to pick up the kids and take my youngest to Target
to get some much needed pants. It was a family affair as we all went together,
splitting up every now and again until we had gathered a rather sightly
amount of items in our basket.
While we were there, I decided I should get a few shirts since all of
mine are so huge, I feel like I'm swimming in them. I can't tell you how
wonderful it is to buy in the JUNIORS department (for the first time since
... I don't know, high school -- which was over 20 years ago!) The thing
that really blew me away was when I got home and put them on and they
fit! I could go on and on about this, but I'm exhausted.
Since we were all hungry, we went out to Marie Callenders for an early dinner (I love their new Gorgonzola, Pecan and Field Green salad with chicken) during which, we learned that the lock box on our old house had mysteriously disappeared. It was quite (and still is) upsetting and put a bit of a damper on our time together. Hubby brought the boys and me home so they could play a bit outside before it got dark and then do homework. I didn't plan on using the treadmill, but since the kids were outside, I hopped on and the next thing I knew, they were finishing up their homework and I had logged in an hour! Woot! I have some research and more information that I'm planning on putting up here as a reference, but that will be Tuesday and an entirely separate post. Heck, I may even do a revamp on the HTML because I'm getting tired of the colors and such. But we'll see. There's some planting I want to get done, too. Oh, and we have to buy the gas dryer...
